Operating in Holy Spirit mode is a process that many are unaware of. Naturally, we operate in flesh mode. This is to operate in our mind rather than our spirit. We are made of body, soul, and spirit. Till we are born again in the spirit, we are blind to the spirit or, as the Bible says, we are dead in the spirit. Through the born-again experience, our spirit is born again. This means that our spirit was cut off from God before this experience. God says that He will give us a new heart. This is similar to the parable of new wineskins to store new wine.

Baptism in The Holy Spirit

Now we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, also called baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is a separate experience from the born-again experience. Some may be born again and be baptized in the Holy Spirit at the same time. God decides this, but it is also dependent on correct teaching. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is to enable the power of God to help us in our walk. Most Christians are satisfied with knowing the word of God but not His power. This means that they are still walking in the flesh rather than the Spirit. This is where we see many conflicts in the church because some are walking in the Spirit while others are walking in the flesh. In the Spirit, there will be unity.

Walking in the Holy Spirit

Walking in the Holy Spirit is a process. We start in baby steps and progress to walking, running, and some may even fly in the Spirit. Paul talks about beginning in the Spirit and then walking in the flesh. This happens so easily, as our default position is to walk in the flesh. God is calling us to be hot for Him. We cannot get slack in our walk. We must be on fire all the time, as our enemy will try to get us walking in the flesh. Today, determine to operate in Spirit mode and be victorious.

God’s word in Romans 12:1 exhorts us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This transformation is through the work of His Holy Spirit in us, who reveals His mind to us. This is what is called revelation. We can read His word but not have a revelation. Revelation leads to transformation. We get something from heaven transferred to us. There is no limit to this transformation. God is Spirit, and He works through His Spirit on our spirit. Our mind then gets enlightened like a light bulb moment. We suddenly see what we did not see before. We might have read a certain scripture verse a hundred times, but till we received revelation, that word was just a word. When Jesus spoke, He spoke life into dead bones. His word, when spoken by faith, can produce life in dead situations.

Power Of His Word

The power of His word is endless. We can speak to our sickness, and transformation occurs. The Holy Spirit works through His word, which, mixed with faith, produces life. When we saturate ourselves with His word and His Spirit, we too can talk and walk like Jesus. His now word is what brings forth fruit. The word without the Holy Spirit is a dead word. It does not inspire and is fruitless.

Transformation

Today let us be inspired by his word and do the works of God. When we pray, let us pray through our spirit to God who is spirit. Many prayers don’t get higher than the ceiling because they are said from our heads and not from our hearts. We need to connect with God through our spirit and with his truth. We can expect God to answer our prayers because He has ordained it this way. We have authority on earth to ask and to receive. So let us be transformed by His word and be the light to the world.

We are spirit beings living in a body. Our soul resides in our body and determines how we feel, think, and do. Our will is part of our soul. Many confuse the soul and the spirit. The Bible clearly teaches that we are a trinity of spirit, soul, and body 1 Thessalonians 5:25. However, the church mainly ministers to our soul through compromise and poor teaching. The church needs to clarify this so it operates in the spirit rather than from the soul. Many feel deprived because their spirit is not being fed. Rather, they are given a diet of soul food through music and positive messages to build up our souls. We therefore do not expect the supernatural in our gatherings. We are no different from a social club that meets to fellowship and do some good works.

Holy Spirit

In the Holy Spirit, we can return to our first love. We were born again of the Holy Spirit. Now we need to be filled with Him and walk by the Holy Spirit. Most Christians are happy with their position in Christ but lack a relationship with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus, sent to help us in our daily walk. How can we walk if we do not talk with Him? Many times we are confused because we do not communicate Spirit to spirit. Our soul cannot understand the things of the Holy Spirit. We need to communicate Spirit to spirit to discern what God is saying, and then our minds will be transformed to comprehend the things of the Holy Spirit.

Manifestation

I realized this when I received the revelation that I need to communicate through my spirit with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, but He feels ignored because we continue to operate through our soul man. Our soul is fallen and needs to be redeemed. Only our spirit has been redeemed through the born-again experience. When we come to this place of revelation, we begin to operate in the Holy Spirit to manifest His gifts and His fruits. This is how God manifests Himself through us. Now our prayers are through His Spirit to Him who is Spirit. There is no hindrance, and we receive the answers to our prayers through His Spirit. This is what is called manifestation. Let us push forth in the Holy Spirit to see Him manifest Himself in our midst and see heaven established on earth.

We can read Scripture and understand it through our mind or through the Holy Spirit. We can operate through our mind or through the Holy Spirit. Jesus said He would send another to replace Him. He would live in us, teach us, and guide us. When we enter into the realm of the Spirit, we enter a new dimension of operation. Jesus did not leave us alone. The only way we can connect to the heavenly realm is through the Holy Spirit. Every other way is man-made. This revelation came to me as I began to see how substandard my walk has been so far. To walk in the Holy Spirit is to walk in total surrender. I am just a vehicle to enable Him to speak and work through me. This is so different from the way I was trained to operate.

Holy Spirit

Walking in the Holy Spirit is a new dimension of living. It is like how Jesus lived on earth. He was full of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. How could we ever walk like Jesus without His Holy Spirit? We fool ourselves into thinking we can imitate Him by our own effort. This is a delusion. We need the Holy Spirit to live like Jesus. This challenges my mind as it goes against what I have been trained to do. Now living in the Holy Spirit is easy when I surrender all to Him. He takes over and manifests Himself through me. My understanding grows, and I see things in a new way. Love has a new meaning.

Insight

When I read the scripture through the eyes of the Holy Spirit, my understanding becomes new. I no longer try to understand with my mind, which is limited. I process things through the Holy Spirit.  What I thought I understood before becomes like stale bread. I now taste of the living bread, which is fresh and new. My walk and talk is like walking in heaven. My life becomes empowered by the Holy Spirit. What appeared impossible becomes possible. This is what it means to live a heavenly life on earth. I see beyond the natural into the supernatural. My soul and body are revived and renewed, and I can expect anything as heaven comes down to earth.

Lust, on the other hand, is basically a sexual love for another. Lust drives a person to commit adultery. In a sexualised world we live in, many are driven by lust. All the images we see in the media fuel the lustful desires in us. This includes the images of children who are also sexualised. No wonder sex is attractive, as it seduces us to sin. This has been the downfall of man from the beginning. David had many wives, and his son Solomon had many more! The news is covered with stories of many falling in their careers due to sexual indiscretions. Lust is, in some ways, a Satanic stronghold, as evidenced by many who are addicted to it.

Love on the other hand, is a committed decision to be in a faithful relationship. God demonstrated His love for us by sending His own Son to die for us. This is the kind of sacrificial love that we need to experience in our world today. We have many examples of such love in the people who gave up the comforts of life to serve people who are disadvantaged in many lands. In a marriage where love rules, there is never a possibility of divorce. However, this is not what we see in the world or in the church. Sadly, lust appears to be the ruling force that turns the world around. This is not just in terms of sexual lust but also in the area of finance and other ambitions. Today, let us choose to love and serve our fellow men.

We live in a broken world. Sexual images bombard us through the media, as they are very seductive and get our attention. This is a strategy the devil uses to corrupt our relationships. He entices us to sin and spoils everything. His main mission is to steal, kill, and destroy. God has warned us through the book of Proverbs about the dangers of being seduced into the devil’s snare. Yet we continue to be led astray to forbidden areas to our own peril. Many start their walk well but end up compromising and falling into a heap. This is what we see happening in the church and in the world. We think we can manage dangerous relationships but fool ourselves.

Sexualisation

Sexualisation of relationships is an everyday problem for many. We start well but soon find ourselves sexualising our relationships, especially with the opposite sex. This happens in all ages and between sexes. Why do we do this? This is how what began in the spirit has now become fleshly. Good relationships, when sexualised, soon become corrupted. Watch out for this happening in your relationships. This is why we need to draw firm boundaries around our relationships. Boundaries like laws are there to keep us from harm. Transgress them to our peril.

Guidelines

God has given us guidelines to help us in our walk. We cannot have one leg in the world and the other in the spirit. The flesh is against the spirit. The sooner we recognise this, the easier it will be to keep within our boundaries. Discretion is wise in certain relationships. Marriage is out of bounds for outsiders. Marriage is a covenant, and any entertainment of others will pollute it. Even parents need to be kept out. Many marriages break down because of parental interference. So also anyone else who is part of a marriage and that includes children will destroy the marriage. Beware of boundary incursions and keep your relationships pure.

Many fear feelings because they treat feelings like a permanent state of being. This is a lie. Just like clouds, you may feel happy one moment and depressed another time. They don’t define who you are. Others can only affect you if you allow them to. You are in control of your feelings. Do not allow your feelings to dictate how you will respond. When feelings control you, you become a slave to them. Feelings are there to add color to your life. It is like clothing that can be put on and taken off. The real you is under that covering. The covering is not your identity.

When we feel good, everything becomes easy, and work is easy. When we feel down, everything becomes a burden. Do not fear these feelings. They will pass. You become trapped only if you allow your feelings to dominate you. Fear is a feeling. It is facts appearing as real. It is just an appearance. It is only as real as the credibility you give it. The devil tries to control you through your feelings. This is why you need to give control to Jesus to be the Lord of your life. He will enable you to overcome every negative feeling. Today, do not fear your feelings but overcome them and be transformed.

The demonic has infiltrated every aspect of our lives. The seed of the serpent was implanted through the Fall, and ever since then, mankind has come under the influence of the god of this world. God saw the results of the Fall, and just like in the days of Noah, we are seeing the same effects now. We have lost our fear of God and have become gods in our own eyes. This was what happened to Lucifer before his fall. Pride took over him, and he wanted to be a god. So the history of mankind has followed in the path of the Fall.

Genetic Code

Our genetic code has been modified through the ages, and we see the effects of it in sickness and disease. Now man is trying to modify our genes to make us even more vulnerable through various mutations. God destroyed the hybrid population, as the world was populated by a hybrid race, and lost the original creation that God created. God created man in His own image, but through demonic infiltration, all creation fell into sin. God preserved Noah and his family to continue the original creation, but we see that Satan has continued to infiltrate and destroy His creation.

Resurrection Power

Now Jesus’ sacrifice is the only solution to reverse this downward trend. His blood possesses the resurrection power to reverse all disorder and disease. His blood is sufficient to cleanse and to cure through the cleansing power from heaven. This is the only solution to a sin-soaked generation. The Gospel of Good News is as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago. There is no other way to be redeemed from the curse. His blood is sufficient for now and forever to everyone who believes. Let His blood now cleanse you from all sin and see its effects being manifested in your body and soul today.

Spirit

In the spirit, we begin to see the world through God’s eyes. This is a different dimension of operation. Love can be communicated through physical ways or psychologically. However, there is a higher level called agape. This is God’s way of love. His ways are not our ways. There are many ways of understanding love. How we understand a subject results in how we view the subject. I can see a painting and see the colors, but not notice the message in the picture. The deeper our understanding, the greater will be our walk.

Word and Spirit

When we read the Bible, we can read it like a novel of stories or a message from God. How we read determines what impact it will have on us. The Bible was written to give life to us, for it is like bread to be eaten. Language is limited in its ability to convey the full meaning of the Word. However, through the Holy Spirit, the Word becomes flesh to those who believe. Jesus is the living Word who became flesh and describes Himself to be eaten like bread. This is why we break bread in memory of His life broken for us. When we break bread, we eat of His life that feeds our spirit and gives life to our being. We become like the word we eat. A physical bread does nothing, but the transformed mind hears His word and is transformed. We therefore need His Spirit to be like Him in word and deed. Let us walk by the word and be led by the Spirit.

We are created as a triune being with spirit, psyche, and body. However, we tend to operate mainly in the physical, for this is the part of us that is visible. The spirit and psyche are not visible, but they are real if we have eyes to see them. The psyche is the part of us that involves our thoughts, feelings, and will, and some call it our soul. The spirit is a deeper part of us that understands spiritual matters. God is Spirit and can be understood through our spirit. The body, with its senses, is able to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch, and orient itself to the world we live in. Without the senses, we would struggle to understand our world. However, our brain is so sophisticated that it can compensate for a sense that is deficient or absent. The blind are able to perceive through their other senses. We see through our physical eyes, and that is one dimension of seeing.

Psychological

The psychological realm understands what we see in the physical.  We perceive things through our psyche. Most of us take it for granted and do not explore the workings of our mind. Because we are unable to see our mind with our physical eyes, we are blind to the psychological. We assume a lot of things that are not there. This is what leads to us misunderstanding others because we do not completely understand the meaning of what we see in the behaviours of others. When we see with our psychic eyes, we begin to understand how complex we are, and there are layers of understanding behind what is visible. A child crying may be because she is hungry or because she is irritated by light or sound or pain. So also many behaviours that we see have different meanings, and we simplify things to a single cause to our detriment.

Spiritual

The spiritual eyes see a deeper or higher dimension of operation where angels and demons and God operate. To see with our spiritual eyes is to understand that there is a world beyond the physical and psychological. Some people are able to see visions where angels and demons operate with their spiritual eyes. This is called spiritual discernment. Prophets are able to see into the future and make predictions of what is to come. The demonic operate in this realm. What appears to be a physical or mental problem could well be a demonic infestation. We need eyes to see in all three realms to see our world in the way God created it. Failure to do this keeps us bound in the prison of our own making. Let us see from God’s perspective and love this world the way He does.
